One of “The Big Three” golfers of his era along with Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, South African Gary Player – also known as “The Black Knight” – is the first non-American to win the U.S. Open. He took home the all-American trophy in 1965 after hitting 71 to Kel Nagle's 74 during an 18-hole playoff round. With that victory, Player went down in history as the third golfer ever to achieve a Career Grand Slam.
